Be The Change Ministries

“BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD” – Gandi

This is my favorite quote outside of Scripture. Why? Because it says do something, be something, don’t just sit there and go on about how things should be different. Make them different, be the change. So with that I decided to start an organization based on this quote about three things that God has given me a passion for. Adoption, orphan care, and student missions are my passions and I know they are not for everybody but it is what God has hard-wired me to do. So Be The Change Ministries is going to exist to accomplish three initiatives.

1) An Adoption Fund because we know that as Christians we have been adopted by God through the person and work of Jesus. So we want to help Christians understand this and raise money so that if God calls Christian couples to adopt, we can help them do that. A no-interest loan where couples can receive money during the adoption process and then pay it back to build up the fund at a 0% interest rate so others can adopt and we can help more children find families.

2) Orphan Care – God really brought this to my attention during a mission trip to Ethiopia where we were feeding people and sharing the Gospel when I noticed a group of children separated from the rest of the group. When I inquired about them with the missionary, he said they were orphans who lived in the graveyard. Well they might have been orphans but they were some of the most beautiful children I had ever seen and had smiles that could melt anybody’s heart. As a father, it absolutely broke my heart to know that there are children in this world with no one who loves them and no one to provide them with the basics of food, water, and shelter. So Be The Change is raising money and partnering with organizations to provide all of those things.

3) Student Missions – I want students to understand who God is. I want them to understand what that means for them and I want them to live in light of those two things. One of the defining experiences in my life was my first international mission trip to Nicaragua. God totally changed how I look at the world and how I view other people because of this trip. I begin to understand how big the world was and how big God was. It gave me a glimpse of what heaven is going to be like when the Bible tells us that people from “every tribe, nation, and tongue” will be gathered around the throne of God for all of eternity. God has given me a passion for students and if I could have one wish it would be that they could see the world in a way that changes how they operate. So Be The Change is going to do everything it can to encourage students who want to be on mission whether it is at their school or around the world. We want to raise money to help students go be on mission wherever God tells them to go.
